Stair Railing Parts Ideas

Nov 4th

Stair railing parts are a necessity for safety, but they may not always look like you would like them to. Replacing a stair railing can be costly, and reconditioning can require a lot of effort and money. Instead of going to this cost, you can cover up an ugly stair railing. This technology gives you an updated rack that can be changed as often as you want.

Instructions

Measure the length of the railing. To create a solid surface, plywood will need to be used to create a substrate. You will need to cover both sides of stair parts with plywood for the stand-alone fence or just one side if the rack is attached to a wall. Also measure the length and width of the top of the railing to create a cover for it. Buy plywood in sizes needed. If you have a very long handrail, consider buying several smaller sheets to make it easier to install. You can have a board yard or hardware store cut plywood to the desired size to make the process easier.

Attach plywood to the sides of the rack. Using a drill and a wooden screw, attach the plywood board to the rack. You can drive the screws through the existing handrails, if they are made of wood. For the metal rails stair, attach the plywood boards to the wall instead or to each other if the rack is self-contained. Fit the upper piece of plywood over the top of the rack. Again, using your drills and wooden screws, attach the strip of plywood that will cover the rack. You should now have a completely covered railing that is ready to be ready.
