Home Kitchens Go Green at the Counter

The current economy isn’t exactly lending itself to be the right time to be remodeling my kitchen but it can’t hurt to start doing some research to find the best options available.  Green Daily brought a company that provides an alternative to granite counters to my attention – Paperstone.

PaperStone products are made from post-consumer waste, recycled paper and petroleum-free resins.  It’s website also mentions it’s the only architectural solid surface certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and helps in earning points towards a LEED certification.  There are three series to choose from in varying colors.

Another point made on PaperStone’s site is that it’s roughly the same price as quality granite or quartz counters but often the installation is cheaper as a result of the ease of workmanship and finish.  This product is definitely something I will consider whenever I decide to take the plunge and remove my ugly tile counters.
